SmeltSync respects your privacy and the confidentiality of your plant's production data. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and your rights over your information.
Production data from your plant: Heat numbers, furnace temperatures, AOD chemistry readings, CCM casting speeds, equipment status, timestamps, and any SCADA/PLC tags you connect to SmeltSync. This data stays within your plant's database and is never transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly configure cloud backup.
User account information: When you book a pilot or sign up, we collect your name, email, phone number, plant/company name, and location. This is used only to contact you about your pilot, set up your account, and provide support.
Usage and diagnostic data: We collect anonymized logs of feature usage, errors, and performance metrics to improve SmeltSync. This does not include your production data or personal identifiers.
Communications: If you email us or contact support, we keep your messages to respond to your questions and improve our service.
To provide SmeltSync: Your production data is processed locally on your plant's database or on our secure servers (if you opt for cloud backup) to power your dashboards, reports, and analytics.
To support your pilot: Your contact information is used to onboard you, answer questions, troubleshoot issues, and send you pilot updates and results.
To improve the product: We use anonymized usage patterns and error reports to fix bugs, add features, and optimize performance. Production data is never used for this purpose.
For legal compliance: We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or government request.
On-premises deployment (default): SmeltSync can run entirely on your plant's own servers or network. Your production data never leaves your plant. You control the backup and restore process.
Cloud backup (optional): If you choose cloud storage, data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). Backups are stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centers in India with automated daily snapshots.
Access controls: SmeltSync uses role-based access control (RBAC). Only authorized users with credentials can access the system. All logins are logged with timestamps.
Data retention: Production data is retained as long as your account is active. After account termination, data is retained for 30 days to allow export, then securely deleted.
Access: You can request a copy of all your personal data and production records stored in SmeltSync at any time.
Export: You can export all your production data, heat logs, and reports to CSV or PDF format using the admin panel. No vendor lock-in.
Deletion: You can delete individual records, heat logs, or request complete deletion of your account and all associated data.
Do Not Track: SmeltSync respects Do Not Track signals in your browser. We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising.
We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not share your personal information or production data with marketing partners, data brokers, or advertisers.
Service providers: We may use third-party services for hosting, backups, and email delivery. These providers are contractually bound to keep your data confidential and secure.
Your consent: We may share anonymized, aggregated data with partners only with your explicit permission — for example, if you allow us to share anonymized production benchmarks for industry research.
SmeltSync uses minimal cookies only for session management (keeping you logged in). We do not use tracking pixels, web analytics, or third-party ad networks. Your browser data stays private.
SmeltSync is intended for business users at steel plants. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we discover data from a minor, we will delete it immediately.
Compliance: SmeltSync complies with data protection laws in India and respects GDPR principles for EU-based users.
We may update this privacy policy occasionally. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email at least 30 days in advance. Your continued use of SmeltSync after changes means you accept the updated policy.
